TALE OF KASHIMA REIKO

Today I will tell you the story that a little bit scarier than before.. This ghost is not really famous enough, even though there's a movie about this one. This story is kinda bit disturbing. because the ghost in this story.. umm.. just have the half body. But don't worry, I will not show any disturbing and creepy image in this article. So you can enjoy the story. But if you really want the creepy images and the actual images of this ghost, you can search it on google. Well, here it goes, the half body ghost "Kashima Reiko"..

KASHIMA REIKO (TEKE TEKE)

Kashima Reiko (also known as Teke Teke) is a Japanese urban legend about the ghost of a young woman or school girl who fell on a rail way line and was cut in half by the oncoming train. Now she has no legs and haunting school bathrooms or your house bathrooms (just like Hanako-san). There’s a warning in the other article that said “after you hear the story of Kashima Reiko, she will appear to you within a month. If you don’t want to see her, don’t read this.”

(But I can be sure that you do not have to worry to read this. That's because first, I've already read lot of Kashima Reiko story and until now I have not meet her in my life. Secondly, after I searched a lot of news about the incident that created by this creature in real life, I found nothing. Thirdly, you should know that people who repost this story on their page, people who make the movies of her, and people who write a book that include her story must have already read and know well about her story. But they still stay healthy today and did not experience the presence of this creature in their daily lives. That's why you do not have to worry)

KASHIMA REIKO APPEARANCE

Kashima Reiko physical appearance is a young woman with her half body. has no legs. Sometimes at night you can’t see her face because it is covered in darkness or covered by her long hair so that only her mouth you can see. That's why some people who see it will think that she is a beautiful woman. Some said that she had her weapon with her. Her weapon is a scythe that she held in her right hand and sometimes with a scissor that she held in her left hand.

KASHIMA REIKO BEHAVIOR

From what I conclude, I think Kashima Reiko ghost dislikes if her stories and her death are known by the others. That is why some people say that if you read this story and know her story, she will come to haunt you. In fight, if Kashima Reiko encounters anyone at night and the victim's move is not fast enough, she will slice them in half at the torso, mimicking her own disfigurement.

KASHIMA REIKO ORIGINS AND STORY

After searching about this story through many media and references. I found that some of them say that the story of Kashima Reiko and the story of Teke Teke is different, but not a few of them also say that kashima reiko and teke-teke is same because they have similarities.

Those who say it's differently claim that the story of Teke Teke is about a young woman or a school girl who was pushed and fell on a rail way line and was cut in half by the oncoming train. After that she's become a vengeful spirit (Ouryou) who carries a scythe or a saw and moving with either her hands or her elbows. Some of them also say that she can float and fly when she focus on grabbing her scythe with both of her hands or in the other hand she grabbing scissors.

The name "Teke Teke" is taken from the sound that she made while dragging her upper body that makes a scratch or 'teke teke' sound.

There is also a story of a young school boy who is walking home at night, then he spotted a beautiful young girl standing by a windowsill resting on her elbows. They smiled at each other for a moment. The boy wondered what the girl was doing in an all-boys school at night. But before he could wonder more about that girl, suddenly the girl jumped out of the window and revealed her lower half was missing. Frightened and couldn't think anything at the time, he stood stiff in the sidewalk, but before he could run, in a blink the girl cut his body in half.

Since Teke Teke and Kashima Reiko have the same type and form, many of them say that kashima reiko is a part of Teke Teke spirit in this modern era. Here is a story about kashima reiko.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kashima Reiko is the ghost of a woman who lived in the city of Hokkaido, in Japan. One night, she was attacked by a group of men. The beat her badly, abused her horribly and then left her for dead.

She tried to call for help but nobody heard her. She tried to find someone to help her, but she crawled onto a railway track and collapsed, unconcious. The train came along and ran her over, killing her and cutting her in two. Her body was severed at the waist.

Ever since then, Kashima Reiko's vengeful ghost has wandered the world, searching for her missing legs. She is mainly encountered in school bathrooms, but also may appear in your bathroom at home in the middle of the night.

When you enter the bathroom, she will ask you questions. If you cannot answer her questions correctly, she will tear off your legs. In the end it is said that after you hear the story of Kashima Reiko, she will appear to you within a month.

THE CHARACTER OF KASHIMA REIKO IN POPULAR CULTURE

Here are some of Kashima Reiko or Teke Teke figures from many popular culture:
  1. Kôji Shiraishi's 2009 horror film Teke-Teke and its 2009 sequel Teke Teke 2 revolve around the legend.
  2. Takeshi Furusawa's 2006 horror film Otoshimono features a variation of the legend
  3. Future Diary manga creator Sakae Esuno's 4-volume mystery-horror manga, Hanako and the Terror of Allegory, features folklore detective Daisuke Asou who investigates urban legends including the Teke Teke.
  4. The first episode of the anime Ghost Stories features a Teke Teke. It is depicted as a white, glowing, bald-headed spectre that is almost entirely covered in a sheet except for its hands and the top-half of its head, but its gender is irrecognizable. It carries a scythe in one hand and a pair of scissors in the other (a possible reference to the Kuchisake-onna, a ghost that was intended for the show but was cancelled). In the episode, the Teke Teke chases the group, but they manage to escape it when they trip and fall across the floor and it flies over them as it cannot attack if its victims duck.
  5. In Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers game, there’s demon named Kashima Reiko that you can summon.
  6. In Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, Reiko will appear in Sumaru TV after spreading the rumor gotten from the Frightened Security Guard. Bringing him Reiko's Umbrella will have him hand over an Incense Set as a reward.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO IF YOU MEET KASHIMA REIKO

Some say that she will appear in certain areas after you hear her story, here are some areas that make her appear, and how to make her disappear.

1.  When she appears in the bathroom or toilet out of nowhere.

When you go to use the toilet at school or at your home and suddenly she appears from below or above you. At this moment, do not run away and be afraid, because it will make you can't think anything. just calm down and answer her question. Do nothing to anger her. Remember that if you can not answer her question, she will twist your legs off your body.

At first she will ask you, “Where are my legs?”

You should answer, "They are on the Meishin Expressway."

Next, she will ask, “Who told you that?”

You should answer, “I heard that from Kashima Reiko”
(Don’t you dare to say that you heard it from my blog)

Sometimes she will also ask, "Do you know my name?"

Do not say "Kashima Reiko" or she will kill you. Say the answer that will make her confused like "Mask Death Demon". Ka-Shi-Ma stands for "Ka" = "Kamen" (Mask), "Shi" = "Shinu" (Death), and "Ma" = Ma (Demon). She will know that you are telling the truth but she doesn't know who is that person. That's why he will disappear.

2.  When you hear her voice when in the bathroom or toilet out of nowhere.

When you go to use the toilet in the middle of the night, and hear the voice of a woman you don't know out of nowhere. Just answer this question and do nothing to anger her.

At first she will ask, “Do you need your right leg?”

You should answer it with, “I need it.”
(If you answer it with “The fuck! Where’s that voice come from?” or “Of course man, the hell you ask that damn question.” Just prepare yourself for a jump scare I warn you)

Next she will also ask, “Do you need your left leg?”

You should answer, “I need it.”

After that, she will ask a random question out of nowhere, “Where did you hear about me?”

Just answer it with, “From Kashima Reiko.”

Then the voices will disappear.

3.  When he appears in your dream out of nowhere.

When suddenly comes a woman named Kashima who might appear in your dream, and then asks a random question, "Do you need your legs?"

You should answer, “I need them.”

Then she will ask you, “Where did you hear about me?”

In some stories says that if you answer her by saying her name only with “Kashima Reiko” or “Kashima”, she will kill you. You should use Japanese honorific word “-san” for raising her position when talking. That means her name should be pronounced “Kashima-san”. So the answer is, “From Kashima-san.”

4.  When she appears out of nowhere when you walk somewhere at night and she doesn't say anything but smile.

Simply repeat or say “Kashima-sama” three times and the ghost will disappear. Remember, at this time, it must be “-sama” instead of “-san”. That's because honorific word “-sama” is higher than the honoric word “-san”

Notes! She’ll probably ask these questions in Japanese and expect you to answer in Japanese. So, if that’s not motivation enough for you to study up on your Japanese, I dunno what is.

Well.. See you in the next entry..
